Course Design and Access


Q: Are your courses live or on-demand?

A: All of our course videos are recorded for on-demand viewing at your convenience. Our courses provide asynchronous exercises that you can complete when you’re ready, and course instructors will provide feedback to help grow your skills.

Q: How long do I have access to a course I’ve purchased?

A: You have access to your course for six months. After that, you can extend access to a course or reactivate an expired course by purchasing a subscription. That subscription retains access to any course you’ve purchased, includes any course updates, and grants access to our Analyst Skills Vault.

Q: When do I get course access after signing up?

A: Immediately!

Q: Where do I ask questions during a course?

A: For questions related to the course material and learning objectives, you can ask a question directly in the learning platform or email your course instructor. For questions related to course access, tech support, or billing, you can email info@appliednetworkdefense.com.



Purchasing


Q: Do you provide discounts for group purchases? A: Yes. Please see here for more details and email us for a quote.

Q: Can I purchase course vouchers for later use within my company?

A: Yes. Whenever you complete a bulk purchase, you’re effectively buying course vouchers. Those can be used at any time, and don’t expire until they are. This option is particularly flexible for companies that want to train existing staff and new hires that have not yet been onboarded.

Q: Will I receive a receipt for my purchase?

A: Yes, we’ll automatically email you a receipt.



Subscriptions


Q: A course I purchased has expired. Can I regain access to it?

A: Yes! We provide a subscription that will extend/reactivate any course you’ve purchased for as long as it’s active. You’ll also gain access to our Analyst Skills Vault. You can learn more about that subscription and sign up here.

Q: If I’ve purchased multiple courses and want to extend access for all of them, do I need multiple subscriptions?

A: No. A single subscription keeps every course you've ever purchased active. Any newly purchased courses are automatically added to the subscription.

Q: How do I cancel my subscription?

A: You can cancel your subscription by logging into the course learning platform at https://networkdefense.io and completing the following steps:

  1. Select "Your profile settings" on the menu in the upper right corner, or "Your settings" from your home page.
  2. At the bottom of your profile, select "Billing."
  3. Then select “Manage Subscription.”
  4. Select “Cancel Subscription.”
  5. Confirm again and your subscription will be canceled.

Q: My credit card expired. How can I update it?

A: You can update or change the credit card used for your subscription by logging into the course learning platform at https://networkdefense.io and completing the following steps:

  1. Select "Your profile settings" on the menu in the upper right corner, or "Your settings" from your home page.
  2. At the bottom of your profile, select "Billing."
  3. You can update or change your credit card information from this area.

Q: Can I reactivate course access even after it has expired?

A: Yes! You can purchase a subscription at any time to reactive any course you've purchased.

Q: Does a subscription provide access to every AND course?

A: No. Our full-length courses are purchased separately, but the subscription will extend access to them or reactivate expired courses.

Q: What is included in the Analyst Skills Vault?

A: The Analyst Skills Vault contains a collection of standalone lessons covering a wide range of defensive security topics, crafted by expert practitioners. You can learn more about the Skills Vault here.


Accessibility


Q: Do you provide closed captions for your recorded lessons?

A: Yes! Starting in 2020, all new lesson we’ve created are closed captioned for accessibility. You can enable that feature by clicking the CC icon on the bottom right of videos in our player.

Q: Does your video player provide the option to speed up or slow down videos?

A: Yes! You can slow down or speed up videos as you see fit using the playback options at the bottom right corner of any videos in our learning platform.

Q: What languages are your classes taught in?

A: All of our classes are taught in English. We can provide translation services to certain languages for large group purchases. You can contact us to inquire about translation.


Misc


Q: Do courses come with a certificate of completion? A: Yes, you’ll receive a certificate of completion when you finish a course. You can use that for employer reimbursement, to claim CPEs/CMUs, or to share your achievement on social media.

Q: Are AND courses eligible for continuing education credits (CPEs/CMUs)?

A: Yes! Our students regularly submit course completions for continuing education credits with organizations like ISC2, SANS, and others.
